Collaboration of Grupo VAPF with UNHCR in the Emergency of the Earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.
07.03.2023

It has been several weeks since two devastating 7.7 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria, killing thousands of people and causing untold destruction of homes and infrastructure across the region.
Grupo VAPF, as a collaborating partner of the Spanish UNHCR Committee, in response to the devastating earthquakes registered on February 6, 2023 in the southeast of Turkey along the border with Syria, has made an extraordinary financial contribution to collaborate in this emergency.
From the beginning, UNHCR staff have been helping to cover the basic needs of the population, such as accommodation and distribution of relief items, since the provinces most affected by the earthquakes are also those in which the largest number of displaced peopleand refugees live.
